I LOVE when one of our female financial advisors takes time off work, she always comes back so refreshed and energized wondering why she didn’t do it more often.
I want you to embrace 3 powerful reasons why you need to take more time off from work ESPECIALLY now during the pandemic. You see you don’t have to go anywhere to generate the benefits of taking time off. I know this personally.
When I was in my 2nd year of building a business as an advisor at SB, while there wasn’t a global pandemic, my divorce created a sort of pandemic in my life adding a tremendous amount of challenges for me and my three children. The pressure to be there for them and generate new business was overwhelming, I had no time for me.
So one day I told my BM I planned to take Mondays and Fridays off until further notice. These days off gave me a chance to breathe! It gave me time to recharge my batteries and the best thing about it is, I was just as productive at growing my business (maybe even more so) because I wasn’t exhausted.
This pandemic has created tremendous underlying pressure, pressure that you can’t see but you feel it. That’s why you must take more time off and here is what will happen:
- You will feel an immediate sense of relief knowing you are taking time off for YOU which serves your business but gives you more patience with those you love.
- You will become more efficient with your work time knowing you can’t (and shouldn’t) do it all forcing you to focus on the BIG priorities not all the time wasting activities.
- You will attract bigger, better clients. By valuing yourself and your time you will be more discerning as to who are the clients you want and need turning away those that suck up all your time and energy.
Women advisors have been taught to work HARD but for most women advisors working SMART has a greater impact on your ability to succeed in all aspects of your life and your business.
