As a soldier fighting in Iraq my son never felt more pride in his country and himself. He entered the military as a young man without direction and focus. He returned from Iraq with tremendous confidence and wisdom beyond his young life. The military gave my son Warren a greater appreciation for what America truly stands for (freedom and opportunities).
Since his return at the young age of 24 he now has a beautiful new wife, a new home and a new baby on the way. He manages his money well and invests whenever he can. His challenge is finding a career that instills that same sense of pride that he once felt on active duty. I am so proud of my son and I credit much of his new found maturity to his experiences in the military.
While many people are opposed to the military, often feeling sorry for the young men and women that join they don’t realize nor do they appreciate the incredible benefits the military provides for our country as well as those young men and women who choose to serve.
There is no greater act in life than living your life based on a purpose that is greater than yourself. I am a proud mother of an American soldier.
