Female Financial Advisors Are Redefining The Industry Protocol

Yesterday I held the first group call for my Pink Office Mastermind designed specifically for female financial advisors.  There are 7 women in the group (a perfect number) and the group will work together to support and encourage each other for the next 6 months.  When I asked the group what they hope to accomplish during the 6 months most of the requests were about marketing, developing their story and compelling message.  While all of this is important and topics we will cover I told them that my focus for the program was to make each one of them uncomfortable.

One of the participants who had attended one of my previous conferences clarified the importance of this.  She said that when she attended my Breaking the Mold conference she was a little concerned when I said that the purpose of the presentation was to make everyone uncomfortable.  She said now that she has experienced the conference she understands why this is important and instead of fearing discomfort she is embracing that idea of creating her own discomfort.

I don’t want this to be a warm, fuzzy mastermind program. Not me, not my style, that may be a great environment for some but my goal is different.  I want these 7 female financial advisors to begin rethinking everything they do. I want them to question every aspect of the industry, especially those things that seem set in stone. We have been told how to do the business for years but as in most aspects of life we women tend to do things a bit differently than our male counterparts.

As women we now have enough time, experience and confidence in our role as financial advisor to redefine the way business should be done.  It’s time that female advisors recreate the “protocol” or process for building a successful business that leverages women’s strengths and accelerates growth.  It is masterminds like my new Pink Office Mastermind that will inspire a new way of thinking about the business, generating new, fresh ideas and the inspiration for a better life, a cleaner industry and a more collaborative style of managing wealth.
