As a working Mom you have an Advantage.

As a female Financial Advisor and working Mom you may feel as if you are sometimes handicapped when building a business but actually the contrary is true.  By being a working Mom you have a priority system that can’t be replicated artificially.  Working Mom’s tend to work smarter, more efficiently, are more discerning as to who they will work with and are motivated by something more powerful than a pay check.   

As a working Mom myself my life today is so much different than it was when I was building my financial practice.  With three young kids at home that needed me I automatically limited my time in the office.  I set clear boundaries as to what I would and would not do as I was balancing more than just one priority.  While I knew my clients needed me my kids needed me more.  I truly believe this was one of the biggest factors in allowing me to succeed when many others could not.

Today, it’s different; our kids are young adults, 4 out of six finishing up college. While they still pop in for a home cooked meal or to escape from life’s challenges I no longer experience the day to day pressures and demands that young kids create. 

As a working Mom, instead of viewing the constant demands on your life as a negative or detriment to your business recognize that it is an incredible time in your life that can’t be duplicated.  There will be a time when you won’t have those constant pressures,  a time when all your hard work results in independent responsible kids who can succeed on their own.  There will come a time when all your time and energy can be focused on growing your business and providing value to your clients.  While you will enjoy the freedom to focus you will sometimes miss that exhilaration that comes from being needed by so many. 

When you fall into bed at night, thoroughly spent mentally, emotionally and physically relish in the fact that every day you are experiencing all that life has to offer in its fullest form. That each day you are challenged to tap into all of the gifts that God gave you to raise wonderful children, provide valuable advice to clients and to feel totally fulfilled and satiated at the end of every day.

Embrace it, it won’t last forever…..
