A Business model to carry financial advisors for the next decade.

I have always said you need just two things to build a thriving practice, a clear compelling message and a data base, that’s it.  When you have both there is no stopping you.  You can buy a database but whether you have the leads or not without a clear, compelling message your success will take more effort.

Most Advisors do NOT have a compelling message and cringe when someone asks them what they do. That’s exactly what happened in my Keys to the Ladies Room Workshop. Each Advisor was asked to describe a certain aspect of their business in a clear and compelling message, just to add a little more pressure I timed them. They all fumbled and some outright acknowledged their demise.  But by the end of the day not only was their message clear but they had an amazing new vision of their practice.  While they came to the workshop simply to learn how to attract more women to their practice they left with a business model that would carry them through success for the next decade.

Each of the participants came with a unique set of circumstances, tools, skills and a goal.  They all left with more than they had planned.

  • One Advisor, a very successful advisor had spent the past year recovering from a family tragedy. She was looking for a spark, something to get her excited again about growing her business. She left with a renewed passion for her business.
  • Another Advisor was leaving the “Mother Ship” and going independent. She came overwhelmed and unclear of her future. She left with a clear plan in place and optimistic about her new journey.
  • Joan had just joined a practice and was commissioned to carve out their space in the women’s market.  She stopped conforming to their methods and carved out her own path.
  • Mary, a former trader now an advisor with a major wire house was struggling to succeed. She had the network (it was massive) but was struggling to tap into her goldmine of leads. She left armed and dangerously ready to inspire everyone in her network.

Each advisor left with more than they planned and as I write this I’m sure their minds are still reeling with excitement and anxious to implement their new plan.
